Nearly 50 high school robotics teams from across Iowa and beyond convened in Coralville, Iowa, to showcase their skills and creations at the FIRST Tech Challenge Iowa Championship.

Robotics teams from high schools across Iowa (and eastern Nebraska) took over the floor at the Xtream Arena & GreenState Family Fieldhouse in Coralville, Iowa, as the University of Iowa College of Engineering hosted the 2023 FIRST Tech Challenge Iowa Championship.

The two-day event featured 48 teams competing in two 24-team divisions. Each division featured qualification matches, an alliance selection, and elimination matches. The winning alliance from each division squared off for the overall title.

Four teams from the Iowa Championship qualified for the FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship:

  • T.H.O.R., from Johnston
  • PCM Alchemists, from Monroe
  • The Winter Soldiers, from Pleasant Valley
  • Rebel Robotics, from Norfolk, Nebraska
