A new class of Hawkeyes is ready to soar — and we couldn’t be prouder of all they’ve achieved.
Published: Dec. 10, 2025
This fall, nearly 1,700 University of Iowa undergraduate, graduate, and professional students will earn their degrees. They’ve engaged, excelled, and stretched themselves in ways that embody what it means to be a Hawkeye.
Take Josie Hartman, who arrived from Milo, Iowa — a town smaller than her lectures in Macbride Auditorium. By diving into student organizations, she quickly found her place. After graduating in December with majors in environmental policy and planning, and political science, she’ll be gearing up for the LSAT and a bit of world travel.
Isa Holtze is headed back to her home state of Washington, confident and career-ready thanks to cinematic arts courses and hands-on experience working on multiple film productions. Iowa helped her find her voice behind the camera.
For Nate Harbert, a sport and recreation management major from Colorado, the thrill was seeing what happens behind the scenes at major sporting events — including the electric rise of Caitlin Clark and Iowa women’s basketball. He’ll stay in the Hawkeye State as an account executive with Learfield.
Not long after her family moved to Davenport, Iowa, Amil Brown searched for a standout environmental sciences program. She learned that the nearby University of Iowa fit the bill — and offered much more. From prairie restoration projects to a welcoming campus community, Brown leaves with skills, confidence, and a plan to attend graduate school.
Year after year, Hawkeyes push for something greater — for themselves, for each other, and for the communities they serve. This newest cohort leaves campus filled with potential and promise.
