It’s been years in the making.

Even before fall 2021, when University of Iowa Health Care leaders were joined by Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds and other state officials at a breaking-ground ceremony to mark the start of construction of a medical center campus in North Liberty, Iowa, the message was clear: Iowans needed, and expected, greater access to UI Health Care services.

Patients and referring physicians across the state trusted the collaboration and expertise of UI Health Care providers. Medical students, resident and fellow physicians, and other health professions learners relied on the experience and mentorship of Carver College of Medicine faculty and staff. And community and business leaders throughout the Iowa City-Coralville-North Liberty-Cedar Rapids corridor welcomed the job opportunities, economic impact, and community-strengthening potential that a new medical campus outside of the university campus could bring.

With the North Liberty campus now open, let’s take a closer look at the medical center and services available.
